Insecurity is pervasive in Nigeria and it affects everyone. This article based on desk information examines the unique security threats that affect women in Nigeria and how women promote insecurity and criminality. It reveals that women as victims or symbols of insecurity are disproportionately affected by security threats such as ritual practices, human trafficking, sexual violence and situations of conflicts and complex emergencies compared to men.
The increasing prevalence of protest commercialization and franchising in Nigeria has significantly undermined the effectiveness of social movements aimed at achieving good governance. This study critically examines protest commercialization and franchising as bane of effective social demands of good governance in Nigeria with a focus on “EndSARS” and “End Bad Governance” protests, in Lagos Nigeria.
The study looks at Nigerian Police and internal security conundrum. In recent times, the country has witnessed a surge in the spate of insecurity which has taken a heavy toll on lives and properties of the citizens. Hence, this study assessed community vigilante and cybercrime control in the selected communities in the Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria. The research design was descriptive, correlational in nature. Data was collected through primary and secondary sources. The study was conducted among the youths, community leaders and traditional leaders.
