AN EXPLORATION OF BUSINESS ANTHROPOLOGY WORKPLACE IN NIGERIA

Anthropologists are social scientists who research human behaviour via careful observation. Anthropologists specialise in biological/physical, cultural/social, linguistics, along with archaeology; additional areas of research include medical, corporate, forensic, visual, environmental.and business anthropology. These sub-disciplines of anthropology merged as a response to the increasing recognisition of the importance of cultural factors in shaping human dynamics, consumer behaviour, organisational structure, and management strategies. This paper focused mostly on social and cultural anthropology, a handful of whom are interested in social connections in the modern workplace. This study contends that methodical observation is key to understanding what it means to be an employee and how individuals can use technology alongside additional tools during the work day, and how workers get meaning (or do not) from their jobs. The paper pave ways for business anthropologists to highlight, underscore and identify what is going along and why such act is taking place in work places. For instance, Firms such as Xerox employed anthropologists, later came Motorola and Intel, which spent heavily on business anthropology to better understand how people operate in work places and to have a clear understanding of business terms that impact operations. The paper concludes that business anthropology furnishes, accoutres, or supply what is needed essentially for performing a function which holds signinificant importance in various contexts. For instance, the application of anthropological knowledge in the field of business can stimulate innovations which is required in this changing era of globalisation.
